For the second consecutive year, Pentagram Eye Hospital has won a gold statuette at the prestigious Medical Awards 2025. The organizer of the competition, which recognizes leading doctors and clinics across Bulgaria, is Global Media Group. The award ceremony took place last night (July 3, 2025) at the 5-star “Crown Plaza” Hotel in Sofia.

Our clinic is one of the few in the country where corneal transplants are performed from cadaver donors and numerous other high-tech interventions.

SOBAL PENTAGRAM is one of the first specialized eye hospitals on the Balkan Peninsula in which the femtosecond laser was introduced into routine practice and incorporated into corneal transplant surgical procedures. This has been performed at the specialized clinic since 2015.

We are also leaders in laser correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. We are equipped with the most advanced refractive laser, the latest generation from the company ZE IS, which is distinguished by its high speed and precision. With it, 1 diopter of nearsightedness is corrected in 1.3 seconds, and 3 diopters are eliminated in under 4 seconds.

The refractive laser is suitable for correcting nearsightedness up to minus 10 diopters. For farsightedness, it can be a solution for people with up to plus 4-6 diopters, and for astigmatism, it can handle up to plus/minus 3 diopters. The intervention with it is of an entirely new dimension and allows the patient to leave the hospital just a few hours after the operation, even driving their own car.
