Four Ophthalmologists from Pentagram Eye Hospital Are Now in the League of “24 Chasa” Newspaper

There are now four ophthalmologists from the “Pentagram” Eye Hospital in the “24 Hours” newspaper league – “Doctors We Trust”.

In the prestigious ranking, it is the patients who identify the doctors they trust the most.

For “PENTAGRAM” Eye Hospital, the newest addition to the “Doctors We Trust” league is Dr. Ralitsa Kermedchieva.

DR. RALITSA KERMEDCHIEVA, PhD

Position: Ophthalmologist at the “PENTAGRAM” Eye Clinic and Medical Center.

Dr. Kermedchieva’s scientific interests are in the field of diagnostics and surgical treatment of anterior eye segment diseases: eyelids, cornea, cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye disease, for which she has undergone numerous training and specializations both in the country and abroad. Recently, Dr. Kermedchieva gained recognition for an innovative pulsed light therapy, which she conducts at the “PENTAGRAM” Eye Clinic, effectively alleviating the symptoms of “dry eye” disease. She is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Ophthalmology, the Bulgarian Glaucoma Society, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the European Dry Eye Society.

Among the specialists from the “PENTAGRAM” Eye Clinic listed in the almanac are the clinic’s manager, Dr. Vesselin Daskalov, who has been in it since the beginning, along with his colleagues Dr. Tanya Bozeva and Dr. Risto Traykovski.

DR. VESSELIN DASKALOV

Position: Medical Director of the Specialized Eye Hospital and Medical Center “Pentagram”

Scientific interests: full spectrum diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, surgery, laser therapy, and others. Since 1992, he has been an assistant at the Department of Ophthalmology at Aleksandrovska University Hospital, in the Clinic of Eye Trauma and Vitreoretinal Surgery. Since 1999, he has been a senior assistant in the same department. He has been working at Tokuda Hospital Sofia since 2006 and actively participated in the establishment of the Ophthalmology Department, which he headed until May 2012. This is the year when the Specialized Eye Hospital “Pentagram” was created.

He is a member of ESCRS – European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, AAO – American Academy of Ophthalmology, EVRS – European VitreoRetinal Society.

DR. TANYA BOZEVA

Position: Ophthalmologist at MC “Pentagram 2012” Ltd.

Scientific interests: diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, macular degeneration, laser therapy for diabetic retinopathy, vascular retinal diseases, diagnosis, and laser treatment of glaucoma.
She has completed numerous trainings and courses in Bulgaria, Switzerland, Italy, and Portugal. She is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Ophthalmology and the Bulgarian Medical Association.

DR. RISTO TRAJKOVSKI, MD

Position: Ophthalmologist at SOBAL ‘Pentagram’ and MC ‘Pentagram 2012’ LLC
Scientific interests: surgery of the anterior ocular segment, refractive surgery, surgical treatment of cataracts, and laser therapy. Dr. Traikovski shows particular interest in the use of the

Femtosecond laser in cataract surgery and corneal transplantation (keratoplasty).
Conducts Anti-VEGF therapy and works on contact corrections with toric and multifocal contact lenses.
Member of the BMA, Union of Ophthalmologists in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Society of Ophthalmology, National Glaucoma Association, ESCRS – European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, EURETINA – European Society of Retina Specialists.
